⚠ Important: Report Assistant is a support model, not a replacement for your clinical judgment. Always review any AI-generated output before sign-off.
1. What Does Report Assistant Do?
Report Assistant is an AI-powered radiology reporting support model integrated into the platform’s reporting environment. It is composed of multiple sub-agents, each addressing a specific part of the reporting workflow. Report Assistant supports — does not replace — radiologist judgment. The reading physician remains solely responsible for the final report.
Report Assistant can:
Draft your Impression and Recommendations sections from your dictated Findings.
Fix spelling, punctuation, and medical terminology errors (Report Corrector), highlighted in purple for your review.
Auto-generate structured reports for Breast, Thyroid (TI-RADS), and Lung (Lung-RADS) exams when the relevant form is completed.
Apply one-time custom instructions on a per-report basis using Prompt Insertion (type ^^ your instruction ^^).
Remember your personal preferences (formatting style, custom instructions, and more) across reports.
2. How to Use It — Step by Step
Dictate and finalize your Findings section
If this is a Thyroid US or lung screening exam, confirm that the relevant structured form is fully completed and nodule data has been inserted into the report.
Optional: type ^^ your instruction ^^ anywhere in the report to customize this report’s output (e.g., ^^ use bullet points ^^).
Press the [AI] button.
If any fields are highlighted in orange, mandatory nodule attributes are missing from the structured form. Complete them and press [AI] again.
Review all generated sections: Impression, Recommendations, Assessment, Reference, and any purple-highlighted Report Corrector edits.
Edit as needed using the standard editor controls. Do not delete or rename generated section headers (e.g., <<IMPRESSION>>, <<RECOMMENDATIONS>>).
Sign the report. Purple and orange highlights disappear automatically on sign-off.

5. Structured Reporting (Breast, Thyroid, Lung)
For these exams, Report Assistant activates automatically when the correct form is filled out. Press [AI] as normal.
Exam Type
Exam Code(s)
Form Required
What Gets Generated
Breast US/MR/MG
Multiple codes (see full manual)
Breast Reporting Form (+ left/right US form where applicable)
TI-RADS score per nodule + Assessment & Recommendations, Impression, and Reference. Up to 4 nodules.
Lung Screening
10181
Lung-RADS Tech Form
Lung-RADS score + Assessment & Recommendations, Impression, and Reference. Up to 4 nodules.
Orange highlights after pressing [AI] mean a required nodule attribute is missing from the form. Fill in the highlighted fields and press [AI] again.
6. Body-Region and Modality-Specific Impressions
From v3.4 onward, Report Assistant automatically selects a specialized Impression agent based on exam metadata (body region, modality, exam code). No extra action is needed — just press [AI].
Variant
Trigger Condition
Available From
Knee
Eligible Knee exam codes across MR, XR, and CT (see full manual for code list).
v3.4
Head / Brain / Neck
Body region is Head/Brain or Head/Brain + Neck, AND modality is CT or MR.
v3.5
Chest / Abdomen / Pelvis
Body region is Abdomen, Pelvis, Abdomen/Pelvis, or Chest/Abdomen/Pelvis. No modality restriction.
v3.5
Bone Mineral Density (BMD)
All exams with the BMD modality, regardless of body region.
v3.5
If the exam does not match any variant’s criteria, the default Impression agent is used.
7. Saving Your Preferences
Report Preferences let you store preferred behavior so you don’t need to use Prompt Insertion on every report. Preferences are applied in the following priority order (highest first):
Reading physician — applies for that individual radiologist.
Facility — applies for all radiologists at that site unless a reading physician preference applies.
Facility group — applies across managed sites, unless a facility or reading physician preference applies.
Each level supports up to five preference sets, identified by Macro IDs 0–4. Macro ID 0 is applied automatically when [AI] is pressed. To use a different set, insert ^^readerprefX^^ (X = 1–4) anywhere in the report before pressing [AI].
Configurable Option
What It Controls
Report Corrector toggle
Enable or disable Report Corrector. When enabled, supports custom correction guidance (e.g., “Always correct plural effusion to pleural effusion”).
List formatting
Numbered list, bulleted list, or new-line-separated entries for Impressions and Recommendations.
Custom Impression instruction
Per-physician guidance for tone and content of the Impression (e.g., “make impressions detailed and verbose”).
Custom Recommendation instruction
Per-physician guidance for Recommendations (e.g., “always append: Follow up with Dr. Harris”).
Custom Corrector instruction
Specific correction rules (e.g., “always write MRI as Magnetic Resonance Imaging”).
Custom abbreviations (v3.5)
Define abbreviations and their full forms. Report Corrector automatically expands them (e.g., setting hx → history causes Report Corrector to replace every instance of hx with history in the report).
Breast Reporting customization
Provide a CSV file of custom recommendations for eligible breast exams.
Breast Imaging section customization
Customize the title and text of the Information About Breast Imaging (Warning) section (available from v3.5).
Disable Report Assistant
A site administrator can disable Report Assistant at any level by setting Report Assistant Version to 0.0 in the preference. When disabled, [AI] performs no action.
Contact your support team to configure preferences. Changes take effect promptly without downtime.
8. Known Limitations
Report Assistant does not interpret images. It operates on dictated report text and exam metadata only.
Findings not dictated will not appear in generated summary sections.
Structured reporting workflows (Breast, Thyroid, Lung) activate only for their specific eligible exam codes.
The Lung-RADS tech form and the US Thyroid form each support a maximum of 4 nodules. If mandatory attributes are missing for a nodule, no score is generated for that nodule.
Body-region and modality-specific Impression variants require matching exam metadata. Exams that do not meet the criteria use the default Impression behavior.
Breast Reporting requires that breast reporting forms be filled out and attached at the exam level, and that default, benign, and normal templates are configured on the site.
All generated content requires radiologist review before sign-off.
9. Troubleshooting
What’s Happening
What to Do
[AI] button has no effect
Report Assistant may be disabled at the reading physician, facility, or facility-group level. Contact your site administrator to confirm the active configuration.
Output doesn’t match your saved preference
A different preference level may be overriding your setting. Confirm the priority order (reading physician overrides facility). Use ^^readerprefX^^ to manually select a preference set.
Macro override ^^readerprefX^^ has no effect
Confirm the syntax is exactly ^^readerprefX^^ (X = 1–4) and that the Macro ID is configured at the active level.
Body-region-specific Impression not applied
Verify exam metadata (body region, modality, exam code). The default Impression is used when eligibility criteria are not met.
Breast / Thyroid / Lung sections not generated
Confirm the exam code is eligible (Thyroid: 18104; Lung: 10181; Breast: see full manual) and that the relevant form is fully completed.
Orange highlights appear after pressing [AI]
Mandatory nodule attributes are missing from the structured form. Complete the highlighted fields and press [AI] again.
No Recommendations section generated
No follow-up recommendations were found in your dictated Findings. Update your Findings to include any required follow-up and press [AI] again.
Report Corrector edits not appearing
Confirm Report Corrector is enabled in your active preference and that ^^ Turn off corrections ^^ is not present in the report. If enabled, the agent may have detected no errors.
Purple highlights remain after sign-off
The report may not be fully signed off. Complete the standard sign-off procedure; purple highlights clear automatically.
Custom abbreviation not expanding (v3.5)
Confirm the abbreviation is configured in your active preference set and that Report Corrector is enabled.
Breast Reporting not activated
Confirm the exam code is in the eligible breast imaging code list and that the breast reporting form (and left/right US form where applicable) is complete.
Output in unexpected language or terminology
An active preference or Prompt Insertion directive may be altering output (e.g., a translation directive). Review the active preference and remove or modify the relevant Prompt Insertion.
