Report assistant - User Manual Version 3.0 - 3.5

User Manual Summary

⚠  Important: Report Assistant is a support tool, not a replacement for your clinical judgment. Always review any AI-generated output.

1.  What Does Report Assistant Do?

  • Draft your Impression and Recommendations from your dictated Findings.

  • Fix spelling, punctuation, and medical terminology errors in your report, highlighted in purple so you can review them.

  • Auto-generate structured reports for Breast (BI-RADS), Thyroid (TI-RADS), and Lung (Lung-RADS) exams when the relevant form is completed.

  • Apply one-time custom instructions on a per-report basis using Prompt Insertion (type ^^ your instruction ^^).

  • Remember your personal preferences (formatting style, custom instructions, and more) across reports.

2.  How to Use It — Step by Step

  1. Dictate and finalize your Findings section and press the [AI] button on the report editor or through Speech Organization.

  2. If this is a Thyroid (US) or Lung (CT) exam, confirm that the exam form is fully filled out.

  3. Optional: Type ^^ your instruction ^^ anywhere in the report to customize this report’s output (e.g., ^^ use bullet points ^^).

  4. Press the [AI] button.

  5. If any fields are highlighted orange, those are missing nodule attributes — fill them in and press [AI] again.

  6. Review all generated sections: Impression, Recommendations, Assessment, Reference, and any purple-highlighted corrections.

  7. Edit as needed. Do not rename section headers.

  8. Sign the report. Purple and orange highlights disappear automatically on sign-off.

6.  Saving Your Preferences

Report Preferences let you store your preferred behavior so you don’t have to use Prompt Insertion every time. Preferences can be set at three levels:

  • Your personal level (overrides everything below)

  • Your facility level

  • Your facility group level

You can save up to 5 preference sets (Macro IDs 0–4). ID 0 is applied by default. To use a different set, type ^^readerpref1^^ (or 2, 3, 4) in your report.

Preferences can include:

  • Corrector on/off

  • Impression and recommendation formatting and style instructions

  • Custom corrector instructions (e.g., expand “hx” to “history”)

  • Custom breast recommendation lists (CSV format)

  • Customized Breast Imaging Warning section text

7.  Good to Know

Report Assistant works from your dictated text only — it does not interpret images.

If you didn’t dictate it, it won’t appear in the generated output.

Other things to keep in mind:

  • Structured workflows (Lung, Thyroid, Breast) only activate for their specific exam codes.

  • Thyroid and Lung forms support a maximum of 4 nodules each.

  • Body-region-specific Impression variants (e.g., Knee, Head/Neck, CAP, BMD) are selected automatically from your exam metadata.

  • If an exam code doesn’t match any specific variant, the default Impression agent is used.

8.  Troubleshooting
