Report assistant 3.5 - User Guide

Step-by-step instructions for the new capabilities introduced in Report Assistant 3.5.

1. Head/Brain/Neck Impression

Report Assistant automatically generates a Head/Brain/Neck-specific Impression section for eligible exams.

How to use it

  • Complete your Head/Brain/Neck report.

  • Click the [AI] button.

  • Report Assistant detects the body region and modality and applies the Head/Brain/Neck impression automatically.

Eligible exams

Body region must be one of:

  • [Head/Brain]

  • [Head/Brain, Neck]

Modality must be:

  • CT

  • MR

If the exam does not match both an eligible body region and an eligible modality, the default Impression agent is used instead.

Setup

No configuration required. Head/Brain/Neck impressions are enabled automatically as part of Report Assistant 3.5.

2. Chest/Abdomen/Pelvis Impression

  • Click the [AI] button.

  • Report Assistant detects the body region and applies the Chest/Abdomen/Pelvis impression automatically.

Eligible exams

  • [Chest, Abdomen, Pelvis]

No modality restriction applies.

Setup

No configuration required. Chest/Abdomen/Pelvis impressions are enabled automatically as part of Report Assistant 3.5.

3. Bone Mineral Density (BMD) Impression

Report Assistant automatically generates a BMD-specific Impression section using the structure and terminology expected for BMD reporting.

How to use it

  • Complete your BMD report that contains input from the associated exam form.

  • Click the [AI] button.

  • Report Assistant identifies the BMD modality and applies the BMD impression automatically.

Eligible exams

All exams with the BMD modality. No body region restriction applies.

Setup

The default BMD exam form supplies the data used to populate the BMD report template. BMD impressions are enabled automatically as part of Report Assistant 3.5 and utilize the data available in the report.

4. Lung Reporting 1.0 (Lung-RADS)

For eligible Lung screening exams, Report Assistant applies Lung-RADS logic and automatically generates the Impressions, Assessment and Recommendations, and Reference sections.

How to use it

  • Open a Lung screening exam (exam code 10181).

  • Complete the Lung-RADS tech form — enter nodule details and exam-level data.

  • Nodule information is inserted into the report automatically.

  • Click the [AI] button.

  • Report Assistant applies Lung-RADS scoring logic and generates the structured report sections.

  • If any mandatory fields are missing, they are highlighted in orange.

Eligible exams

Exam code 10181 only.

What is generated

  • Impressions

  • Assessment and Recommendations

  • Reference

Setup

No additional configuration is required. Lung Reporting is enabled automatically as part of Report Assistant 3.5. Nodule details are captured through data inserted from the Lung-RADS exam form.

Limit: the Lung-RADS exam form supports up to four nodules. If any mandatory attributes are missing for a nodule, the Lung-RADS score for that exam will not be generated.

5. Report Preference 1.1 — New Personalization Options

Two new customization options are available in Report Preference 1.1, configurable at the Reading Physician, Facility, or Facility Group level.

New option: Custom abbreviations

  • Define abbreviations that Report Corrector will automatically expand throughout the report.

  • Example: setting hx → history causes Report Corrector to replace every instance of hx with history in the report.

New option: Breast Imaging section customization

Customize the text and title of the Information About Breast Imaging section when using the Breast Reporting agent.

How to set up preferences

  • Decide whether the preference applies at the Facility Group, Facility, or Reading Physician level.

  • Decide whether this is a default preference or a macro-level preference (levels 1–4).

  • For custom abbreviations: provide each abbreviation and its full form.

  • For Breast Imaging customization: provide the desired title and text.

  • Contact your system administrator or support team to configure preferences.

How preferences are applied

Once configured, preferences auto-apply when using your account. If a macro-level preference is configured, the report must contain the text ^^readerprefX^^ (where X is the macro ID, 1–4) to trigger it.

Note: For a full list of previously supported customization options, refer to the Release Assistant 3.3 Release Notes.
